Technology Transfer and Innovation

The Technology Transfer and Innovation Department within the National Research and Development Institute for Animal Biology and Nutrition is a key structure in the process of capitalizing on scientific research results, ensuring the practical application of innovations and technologies developed within the institute. Its primary goal is to bridge the gap between the academic world and the industrial and agricultural sectors, accelerating the implementation of new discoveries in the fields of nutrition, animal biology, and related sectors.

The main objectives of the department include:

  1. Identifying and evaluating innovative technologies and cutting-edge research emerging from internal research, with potential for transfer to industry, farmers, or other organizations. This involves technological, market, and feasibility analysis of new technologies.
  2. Managing the intellectual property portfolio, including filing patents, concluding licensing agreements, and establishing collaboration agreements for the valorization of research results. This ensures the protection and efficient use of the developed know-how.
  3. Developing strategic partnerships with the private sector, government organizations, and other research institutions to facilitate joint projects, technology transfer, and large-scale implementation of new solutions.
  4. Providing support to companies and farmers in adopting new technologies by offering consultancy, technical assistance, and specialized training for the implementation of innovative solutions.
  5. Promoting and disseminating research results to the general public and stakeholders through the organization of events, seminars, fairs, and specialized publications.
  6. Monitoring the impact of transferred technologies and identifying new opportunities for innovation and development, with the aim of enhancing the competitiveness of the animal nutrition and biology sector.
  7. Aligning with national and European strategies on innovation and technology transfer, thereby contributing to the positioning of the institute as a center of excellence in the field.

The department’s activities bring numerous benefits, including accelerating the market availability of new technologies, fostering innovation in the field, creating sustainable partnerships, and increasing the impact of research on society and the national economy.
